This week, we’re finally ready to rock and roll. The OneLove Company found a vendor and we’ve got product in hand.

All of us – the JA Company Program students, mentors and design partners— are thrilled with the look and quality of our product, and we’re confident it will have blanket appeal (pun intended). In fact, one of our mentors was carrying inventory from the loading dock to the Comcast Center office and they secured an order for 100 blankets!

Now that OneLove has a product to sell, the group is focused on three main items – packaging, distribution and partnerships. In terms of packaging, the students are exploring options that augment the Keep Philly Warm image (hand designed by Wink Wink Paper Co.) and portray the natural, earthy look and feel they’re building their brand around.

OneLove is also considering distribution options beyond direct sales. At present, the only way the students can accept payment is via cash or personal check. As such, they are using Squarespace to create a landing page that will enable customers to pay online.

In support of distribution, the company is also working to build partnerships. OneLove has partnered with Project HOME through which they will distribute blankets to those in need. For every five blankets sold, OneLove will donate one blanket to keep Philly’s homeless warm. The students are also planning a day of service event in partnership with Project HOME.

OneLove has also established its first retail partnership with the Liberty Variety gift shop, located at the Market and Shops at Comcast Center, among other potential stores, and is working to establish social properties on Facebook and Twitter.
